In short
Your exact address is never shown publicly on Sa Bhaile. Listings show the area and an approximate circle on the map, about half a kilometre across. Your full address and Eircode stay private until you choose to share them with someone you’ve agreed to go ahead with.
What do people see on the map?
A soft circle around a rounded point near your home, never a pin on your house. The listing shows the locality and the first three characters of the Eircode at most.
When is my address shared?
Only when you decide. By default, the address is shared once you accept a lodger. You can also share it in a message ahead of a viewing.
What about photos?
We strip location data from photos when you upload them. Avoid photos that show your house number or car registration.
What else stays private?
Your phone number and email stay hidden in messages until you both decide to share them. We don’t store copies of ID documents.
Common questions
- Can people find my house from the map?
- No. The map shows an approximate area, not your home.
- When will a lodger see my address?
- When you share it, by default once you accept them.
- Do you remove location data from photos?
- Yes, automatically on upload.
